I'm from the North Hills, but a friend took me here when I asked for a good, local, NON CHAIN restaurant. Pleasantly surprised. The place is just a hole in the wall, dive bar, very small, but clean. The fish is totally amazing. I had the fish and chips and I have to say this was probably one of the best fried fish plates I've ever had. I looked around at other tables, and the other food seemed equally as good. They have lots of sandwiches, daily specials, etc. Highly recommend. If you're looking for atmosphere, move on. But if you're looking for GREAT food at a GREAT price, this is your place.

Tried Dorido's as a recommendation from family and I was skeptical at first, but as soon as we sat down I thought otherwise. I ordered a cheeseburger with the fixings and onion rings and my husband ordered the fish and chips. My burger was cooked to my liking (well done) and the onion rings were very good. My husband's fish and chips came with two cups of tartar sauce and he said it was delicious (the fish that is). The atmosphere is homey and comfortable, seat yourself type of place. Bill, our waiter was friendly and did a good job. Our food also came quickly to the table. Prices are very good for the quality; $18 for our total bill. Check it out :)

Rarely ever disappointed here. Been going here for years now. One of the few local joints I keep coming back to. It's a no-nonsense kind of place ... don't expect white glove service. It's not bar-food either ... it's a big step up from bar food. The seafood is great, and their specialty. No better place to get your Lenten fish sandwich. I had fried oysters last time out, and I can recommend them. The chili is always tasty. Also, I consider this to be a family restaurant. The menu has something for everyone.

Dorido’s is a long-established neighborhood icon. This restaraunt deserves iconic standing. Unpretentious and clean atmosphere. They have a two-leveled dinning area, the first floor is mainly a bar area. Dorido’s is owned, managed, and staffed by the most adept people you’ll ever meet. Service is curteous, swift, and exacting. I haven’t ever been there, that it wasn’t swamped with customers. They do a brisk take-out service as well. I have been a patron for decades and nothing about the service, quantity or quality has declined. Victuals are done from scratch and comprable to my best homemade chowders and bisques. They have a basically american bar menu that is oh, so splendidly heavy towards seafod dishes. Don’t be mistaken and think the dishes are from a frozen box and grease fried. NOT! It is splendidly wonderful, done correctly real food.

Should of gone sooner. After living in the Mon Valley for decades, and going past Doridos near South Park many times, we finally went in. We saw the great rating on Urbanspoon, and decided to end the drought.
As so many reviewers noted the fish is great. The atmosphere is lively and authentic, as only a real Pittsburgh place can be. We made sure our first meal was Fish and Chips. I grew up in the Pacific Northwest, so I got a pretty good idea of what Fish and Chips should taste like. In America, they should be light, crispy, juicy, served with first class french fries. Dorido's Fish and Chips met every test, and surpassed my expectations. Also tried the new Duquesne Pilsner on tap. It too was a revelation. An honest to goodness American Pilsner, light, crisp, and just a hint of hoppy aftertaste. Great with the Doridos Fish and Chips. The Mrs. saw the ample cake slices being dished for dessert and could not resist. The almond torte was as light as a chiffon, with a rich frosting and slivered almonds.
Going back for sure. A lot of the hungry crowd came for the ribs. No surprise there. Seafood places sometimes do the best with red meat. They also had fresh Walleye, which I hope they have again when we go back. Won't be nearly as long a wait this time.
